THE FALSE NATURE OF REALITY
I am sure you are looking for a significant picture of some sort but frankly this entry does not call for it. I was also feeling in an odd mood so I went to the fishbowl. In the kind of world we are living in we love to emphasize the concept of reality but I wonder if any of us really know what it is.
Reality defined correctly is somehting that did, or will more than likely take place at some point in some specific way. We cannot dictate reality, change it once it has happened and on top of that we cannot mask it to reveal what we wish. So then why does reality have a false nature? Reality is one of those things that we love to try to mask because sometimes it's too fucking complicated.
I am a person that has suffered from that very syndrome of just wondering how I can make a situation from what it is to what I wish. I have realized that wanting things acertain way and actually having them that way are two wholly different things. In truth the world is too complicated for everything to align correctly. There are times when we "make it happen" but the truth of the matter is that those are few and far in between.
When we make those choices that we think are the right ones it turns out that we really are just doing one more thing that we are not truly sure of. It does not matter what we think or how strongly we feel because the truth and reality of one situation do not really ever match the actual truth and reality we are faced with.

THE TIME IT TAKES TO REALIZE
They say that when you travel you head to the more enjoyable times of your life. The truth is that traveling is a pain in the ass especially when you are unfortunate enough to sit in front of crazy drunks whose main concern is to see how drunk they can stay through the flight.
I am not particularly crazy about traveling because when the situation is not favorable to begin with and you are alone there really is no purpose to it. The time it takes to realize what a mistake you have made in choices and for you to understand that everything from the trip to the destination is irrelevant when you lack what you want the most in this world is sometimes incredibly short.

WE LIVE IN INTERESTING TIMES
After the terrorist attacks of September 11th the level of high alert everyone is on has become justified because the truth is that airplanes are now a huge source of concern for everyone trying to avoid terrorism. So why if you are traveling out of a US airport would you say that you have dynamite in your luggage?
A Guatemalan man was taken into custody after making the dynamite remark in jest. Part of the Miami International Airport's concourse J was evacuated while an Avianca flight was delayed for over an hour. The funny part is that the man was a 63 year old. You would think that a man that old would be a little wiser and a lot more serious but stupidity is not limited to youth always.
The man is in custody or was, I am not truly certain, and Miami International is back to normal. Interesting that now older people are acting like fools and setting examples of what not to do. Interesting times that we are living in people, interesting indeed!
ANGUS PLEASE THINK TWICE
I think it's great that people find their religion and decide that from that point forward they are going to do what is right for them. What I have a major problem with is when a tool without appeal decides he is going to become America's moral conscience. My reason for this statement is Angus T. Jones' sudden decision to shove his foot up the ass that feeds him.
Angus T. Jones is a lot like a cancerous cell, you know it's there and to some extent you tolerate it but you want it gone as soon as possible. Yes the title of the show he is a part of is Two and a Half Men but truthfully he was never really what made people tune in to the show. The real reason why that show was a massive hit was Charlie Sheen.
Just about everyone thought of Angus as that kind ridiculous add on that did not have a major purpose in the series. Somehow that ugly little porker became a large awkward piece of flesh that as of now takes home $8,000,000 per year and sits in some church couch saying the show is filth. The boy must have had four loco because he sounds like a dam idiot.
I wonder if the congregation Angus is a part of has requested a donation for the newest building or "temple of worship"? Hey idiot when your other testicle drops see if you can go from being the half man to the smart man.

WHAT MAY HAPPEN TO JEB IN 2016
So now the big early star of the Republican party seems to be Jeb Bush. I happen to think that given the vocal and highly questionable figures currently in the party's national scene Bush seems to be a perfect choice. Jeb Bush is for the most part reserved and has an approachable manner that really draws people in. Over his eight year tenure as Florida Governor Bush was very effective and stood out as a powerful figure in what was a chaotic national scene. While it seemed like his brother would take the spotlight and eventually he would Jeb would slowly emerge as a figure of a different sort.
Bush was very strong as Governor and he made many improvements while in office. Bush may well find himself short in trying to answer for his role in leading his brother to office and the start of eight tumultuous years in the American national scene. The truth is that it takes one act to completely overshadow everything you did that was good and effective.
For all his approvals for higher education in the state of Florida, funding for libraries, and environmental projects Bush is still largely remembered as a key figure in the election of his brother. If Jeb Bush decides to run in 2016 the only factors that may work for him are a thoroughly ineffective second term for Obama and either Biden or a weaker democrat running against him. Outside of those two scenarios Bush would face a very hard climb up the ladder to the White House.
TOP TEN DALLAS MOMENTS
As a way to pay tribute to Larry Hagman I thought it would be cool to compile a top ten of memorable Dallas moments. I compiled my own simply because I am sure that most fans of the series would disagree on some of them and on their placement. So here they are my Dallas Top Ten:
- Who Shot JR?
- The Return of Bobby Ewing
- The Death of Pam
- The Death of Jock Ewing
- The paternity of John Ross revealed
- Pam and Cliff meet their mother
- Ms. Ellie re marries
- JR organizes a counter revolution
- JR is taken out of the oil business by the US government
- The Ewing family defeats Jeremy Wendell
Dallas was an icon and it's biggest villain is gone but the moments will always remain. What are some of your favorite moments?
REALLY UGANDA?
Ignorance on an individual basis is downright annoying but ignorance on a mass scale is a crime against nature. I am not gay nor am I a gay rights activist but I think that everyone with more than a half a brain cell should attack Uganda's anti gay measures. We need to really understand this is Uganda, the country that employed Idi Amin as it's leader for a good 8 years.
Let me break down this particular bill which passed a Parliamentary Committee allowing it to move to another round of votes. The bill calls for life imprisonment for gay people instead of the original request for execution. Why is it that Uganda has such a screwed up track record for human rights?
I understand that religious groups have exerted an enormous amount of pressure on the government in order to go on and pass this measure. This whole notion is asinine for so many reasons that I would need at least a year to explain them all in detail. I wonder if the concept of separation of church and state ever filtered down to Uganda.
If you do not agree with a lifestyle choice then don't pay attention. The world is so plagued by violence and ignorance that it doesn't really need anymore of this bullshit. Whatever is considered natural or unnatural is for science to decide and the ultimate price is left to those that engage in whatever those behaviors may be. We are not the Karma police, come on Uganda grow the fuck up, Amin Dada is dead and the world is moving forward, join the line.
REMEMBER THE MACHO MAN
Ever since I had use of my cognitive faculties I was a fan of boxing. Coming from Puerto Rico and being accustomed to fighters like the sensational Wilfred Benitez, the amazing Wilfredo Gomez and the champion of champions Felix Trinidad it's understandable why. With the tragic and untimely passing of Hector "El Macho" Camacho I want to focus a little and what it was that made him an unforgettable figure despite his controversial nature in and certainly outside of the ring.
Like the Macho or hate him you had to give him credit because he was a true warrior. Looking back on his carer Camacho put up incredible performances against the likes of Ray Mancini, Bazooka Limon and many others. One truly sensational display of courage was his fight against fellow Puerto Rican great Edwin "Chapo" Rosario. That night in 1986 Camacho gave Rosario a fight and while many feel Rosario won Camacho came away with the edge. If ever Camacho was defined in his 88 fight career that was the one for him.
Camacho would go on a decline as most fighters do but even in that decline he was still flashy and still a warrior. In losing against Julio Cesar Chavez, Felix Trinidad, and Oscar De La Hoya, Camacho showed he was a game fighter refusing to give up choosing instead to go out on his shield. A three division champion Camacho was the flashy anti-hero and he played his role well, maybe to well for his own good. In later fights Camacho still sought to entertain and attempted to give flashes of the skills that made him great. Camacho's last great performances came in the way of a five round beating of Ray Leonard and two decision wins against a past his prime Roberto Duran.
It's sad that Camacho died the way he died and that the controversy in his personal life will likely overshadow his greatness in the ring. I remember meeting Macho more than once at a gym I frequented years ago. Macho could still move his hands with great quickness and give anyone a severe lesson. Remember the great fighter that he was and not the troubled individual that he became. Forget the attempt at a singing career and think of his dominant performances over 41 straight wins and three world titles.
What time is it? MACHO TIME!
GOODBYE JR.
It isn't often that a character and a fictional one at that makes such an impact that he is remembered as an icon that shaped a moment in time. I think it's safe to say everyone remembers the iconic cliffhanger Who shot JR? Larry Hagman went from being a player in a fun little series like I Dream of Jeannie to becoming a character so evil and at the same time so incredibly beloved that everyone would tune in to Dallas to see exactly what JR Ewing was up to.
Larry Hagman did not just play a part in a series he was a character so strong that he made viewers go through a roller coaster of emotions week to week and sometimes within a one hour period. JR was the bully that used his incredible cunning in order to stay ahead of his younger brother in the race to control Ewing Oil. JR was also an abusive husband that mentally battered his wife and yet always held that spot of true love for her. The JR and Sue Ellen dynamic turned Sue Ellen from a frail alcoholic into a powerhouse that could match JR wit for wit. What JR was in the end was the sort of character that would be the binding agent one way or another in a universe of wealth, excess, and power.
JR would elevate the ambitions of Cliff Barnes and the life of ranch hand and half brother Ray Krebbs as well as the life of Gary Ewing elsewhere. It's funny that this piece goes into everything that a fictional character did. Seeing Larry Hagman in an interview during the Dallas years was almost like seeing good JR. It was interesting to see how JR had those subtle moments of humanity like when he first held his infant son after he learned the boy's paternity. JR was also a son that loved his father even though his ambition and lack of morals was the opposite of his father's on the series.
What I find striking is the almost full circle in the fact that JR perishes during the second season of the new series. In a way it's almost like Larry Hagman went from being JR to an evil and far more interesting but still mortal version of his father Jock played by the late Jim Davis. Davis passed away after the third season of the original series. The new Dallas series is carried by the core characters from the original and it's hard to envision Southfork Ranch without JR. I think the idea that the old powerful devil of Dallas is no longer with us is one that will be hard to accept for a long time to come.
In the end Larry Hagman's legacy is that of a survivor that always put forth an example of some sort. As Larry Hagman the man he underwent a liver transplant and became a spokesperson for transplants while as an actor he left us with an imprint that will never fade. As JR he was truly at his finest he was also a great good guy in I Dream of Jeannie and manage to steal the Bill Cosby vehicle film Mother, Jugs, and Speed.
Goodbye JR and thank you for the wonderful memories, let's hope there are some drilling rights in the ranches of heaven.

I DID NOT KNOW GOD WAS LOST
I am a person that prides himself in respecting the beliefs of others. I have written about religion before not to get attention but to offer perspective. I believe that what people chose in order to fill a void or for that matter re-start their lives is personal and if it has a positive effect it's also admirable. I do dislike it when those very same people sit from a sanctimonious position in judgement of others.
I love people that state that they "found" God or for that matter "discovered" Jesus. Those kind of statements really make little to no sense at all. I am pretty sure that God was never lost and that a lot of people are keenly aware of the existence of Jesus. Finding or discovering a new way to worship and in turn provide others with that "knowledge" is respectable until it crosses the line from friendly banter to judgmental bullshit.
I will always be respectful of others and what they believe because it's who I am. I will always hold my own believes close to the vest and privately because I consider that my right. In the end I will applaud those that try to make a difference but I will always challenge those who allow ignorance to permeate the fabric of personal space.

GIVE IT UP YOU JACKASS
I guess that when a bunch of idiots coined the term reality they decided that they would change the definition of the word. Along with prostituting the term reality into some sort of amorphous word they also decided to further plunge society into a shit hole by giving airtime to people that did not deserve alive time let alone a platform to influence anyone.
Let us start with the show Joe Millionaire or as I like to refer to it, shit on camera. This was a show about a supposed millionaire looking for his Ms. Right. The truth was that he was not a millionaire but a construction worker that was really an aspiring actor/ underwear model. This bastard series only captivated the ire of most because it was being labeled as reality. That series was nothing more than a whore version of The Bachelor. I won't expand on the latter series because quite frankly it is also a pile of serious feces.
The real fact of the matter is that these types of shows allowed moron after moron fifteen minutes of undeserved and unearned fame. Idiots like Evan Marriott and Darva Conger are given a platform to not only lie and pretend but also express how they are moral ad upstanding people. To these wonderfully "talented" circus clowns I say GIVE IT UP, IT'S OVER.
1963 AND ALL THIS COUNTRY COULD BE
In this generation of Social Media and true homogenization or making every trend truly uniform in nature and condensing the fat content of distance and disconnect it seems history has also gone away.
On a sunny November day in Dallas exactly 49 years ago John F. Kennedy was gunned down and seemingly so was the hope and innocence of ideals that America clung to so tightly. I am not declaring political allegiance of any sort so if you are a zealous republican or ardent democrat please take the politics somewhere else.
From 1961 to 1963 for nearly three years the JFK administration was a beacon for this country. Every major leader was fascinated by the youth, good taste, and lively nature of the Kennedy administration. It was not always easy for JFK as he faced obstacle after obstacle with the growing conflict in Vietnam, the Bay of Pigs invasion and mounting tensions with Russia. Kennedy was also a maverick of sorts as he challenged the CIA almost directly, made it clear he wanted an audit of the FED and on top of that would not play ball with controlling figures such as J. Edgar Hoover. Kennedy was the man that wanted progress and at the same time a democracy where secrets were not on tab for the people he served.
Kennedy was a throwback to the days when leaders would openly address the people they served. With his multiple imperfections and serious flaws Kennedy was someone that gave this country a breath of fresh air. Kennedy was not stiff like Richard Nixon or old like the venerated Eisenhower. There was something special about seeing the Kennedy children run to greet their father as he exited Marine One. The Kennedy administration made this country something vital. With youthful figures like Robert McNamara, Pierre Salinger, and Robert Kennedy there was something special.
The only older figure in that administration was LBJ and he represented the stability and the experience of over 26 years in Washington. The US was ready to put a man in the moon and everything seemed on track, the US had hope. A bullet on that sunny November day took that hope away and opened up a wound that this country has yet to heal from.
The US Presidency is more a form of business than a symbol of real power and change. Special interests plagues this country and basically secrets are what's behind every major decision that spurs any change negative or positive. There are no longer convertible Cadillacs or Lincolns and there is no longer that feel that our leader is someone we can approach. Truthfully November the 22nd 1963 was not the day Kennedy died but the day hope seemed to die.
It's fair to wonder how this country would be today if Kennedy had not been shot. Kennedy would have been re-elected in a fairly close election in 1964 and likely would have stopped sending troops to Vietnam and looked for a way to settle that conflict early. Kennedy would have marveled at the success of the Space Program and would have backed Martin Luther King with great fervor en route to great success in achieving equal rights for all Americans. There would have been turmoil but maybe less depletion of resources as a result of an easier out from Vietnam. Now in retrospect this is all a speculative matter but still that glimmer of hope that has faded is a great reflection of a wonderful time that was far too short.
And so for I hope I close with:
It's true! It's true! The crown has made it clear.
The climate must be perfect all the year.
A law was made a distant moon ago here:
July and August cannot be too hot.
And there's a legal limit to the snow here
In Camelot.
The winter is forbidden till December
And exits March the second on the dot.
By order, summer lingers through September
In Camelot.
Camelot! Camelot!
I know it sounds a bit bizarre,
But in Camelot, Camelot
That's how conditions are.
The rain may never fall till after sundown.
By eight, the morning fog must disappear.
In short, there's simply not
A more congenial spot
For happily-ever-aftering than here
In Camelot.
Camelot! Camelot!
I know it gives a person pause,
But in Camelot, Camelot
Those are the legal laws.
The snow may never slush upon the hillside.
By nine p.m. the moonlight must appear.
In short, there's simply not
A more congenial spot
For happily-ever-aftering than here
In Camelot.

VIOLENCE BORES ME
You know something? I am so sick of violence in general. I abhor people that think in their tiny minds that they are somehow better because they can either shoot a gun or beat someone senseless. I am still yet to understand the primal human need to see who can piss a longer stream in the jungle. The truth of the matter is that no matter what you do or how inadequate you feel, acts of violence will not make you a better person. Let me go point by point on the things that bother me the most in this world of ours.
- Violence Against Women- A man thinks that by beating a woman he establishes himself as king shit. Please go take care of your micro penis complex in a psychiatrist couch you don't impress anyone. If you are tough try wrestling an alligator down in the bayou.
- Violence Against Children- Men or women do not have the right to rob children of their few precious years of love and innocence. The fact is children are born pure of heart and mind and none of us have the right to screw that up.
- Violence Related to Drugs- Anytime drugs are involved someone is shot, wounded, or completely fucked in some unimaginable way. The problem with this type of violence is that it does not always affect people directly or indirectly involved with drugs.
- Violence in Protest- Again this is the type f thing that does not need to happen. Martin Luther King protested segregation with non violence and he changed the view of an entire country. Gandhi preached non violence and stands as the type of figure whose understanding of sacrifice really encouraged a whole movement.

HOLY SHIT GRUNGE JUST MADE A......WAIT NO
There is something about a bunch of punks being led by a moron that just touches my heart. The three "Anarchists" that plead guilty to hatching a plot aimed at blowing up to blow up a bridge in Ohio really kind of make me smile. Let me explain myself before I am accused of being some sort of t.......t. See the reason why I say this is because these guys don't look like they can spell anarchy let alone give you a proper definition.
All five of the morons looked beyond baked and past the lower end of the line that determines aptitude. Allow me to further expand upon my point. The five guys look like they travelled to a Nirvana concert fifteen years too late. One guy actually looks the the bastard child of Paul McCartney and Brian Epstein (low historical joke). The curly haired fella looks like Napoleon Dynamite's cousin while the one with the black beard looks like he ran out of money in the barbershop and could only afford half a decent haircut. The blonde Kurt Cobain guy looks like he could not score in a whorehouse on black friday while the leader looks like he may have been a child star sometime in the 80's.
I am not saying that the threat was a light one because after all terrorism does not require so much intelligence as it does will to act. It seems like the five idiots were counting on the element of surprise but we live in a society that will catch up to you whenever it is deemed appropriate and necessary. I think that part of the problem is that the "disenfranchised" like to retreat into a shell where they can appear like dark and fascinating figures. Sometimes in the process of appearing like a "dark" figure people lose touch with reality and begin to follow bigger morons in an effort to make a "point."
We are living in a dangerous world and it's safe to say we are living in dangerous times. It's good to be aware of people if for no other reason safety. While these guys look like a commercial for stupidity and a PSA for not experimenting with war RPG's, salvia, combos, and weed they are no less threatening. It's also a good idea to if nothing else try to reach out to people that look this awkward.
Seriously America let's reach out and touch a weirdo, he may blow up your mailbox and steal your cat.
SAY IT AIN'T SO ELMO
Sometimes you hear news that just rock the hell out of your world. To me one such piece of news is the scandal with Kevin Clash being accused of sex with teenage boys. I have no real place to begin with this. This really bugs me because it was someone that I grew up watching. Okay I did not know who Kevin Clash was but I knew his work. You are talking about someone who created and shaped characters that became icons for millions of children.
Sesame Street was destination viewing for millions of children around the world. Every day I would watch both Plaza Sesamo ( Mexican version) and the English version. To me Sesame Street was a way to learn, enjoy the art of puppetry and on top of that the lessons that were taught by the characters for the purpose of creating a solid foundation through the use of media.
Kevin Clash has a right to his personal life but to be accused of sex with underage boys and to roll over and destroy 28 years without an apology or some manner of defense just breaks so many hearts. You are talking about little kids that are going to ask about Elmo and the parents will likely respond with disgust. Sesame street was an american cultural icon and Elmo was a part of that icon that shone like the brightest light.
So what now? All that innocence and goodwill is destroyed. This is an accusation of taking advantage of underage kids claiming to "groom" them for a career in the business. A resignation does not really fix the situation nor does it make it better. I am not overly conservative but I am not so liberal that I think there is nothing wrong and this can be ignored. I guess Kevin was really enjoying himself when he was getting tickled.

OH NO SELENA GOMEZ HAS STREP THROAT! PLEASE LET US SAVE HER AS THAT WILL SOLVE CURRENT WORLD CRISES.........
Everyone I need you to please do some kind of spiritual ritual to save our favorite Wizard of Waverly Place from the clutches of the deadly disease known as strep throat. Yes you heard right everyone the head Beiber Fever carrier is now deathly ill with her throat itching as millions of bacteria are killing her precious vocal chords. We need to save her as the fate of the whole world depends on it.
Sorry after further research it turns out strep throat does not really kill people and she is not really the important to the fate of the free world. I still say we form a hand holding movement to show this brave lite doodle how important she really is to all of us. Anyone with me? Bueller? Bueller? I guess I don't have the backing.
Really these are the news that are trending today and everyone wonders why there is such a generational disconnect. When I was in middle school we were taught to discuss relevant current events and learn to back up our opinions with well researched facts. If a kid shows up with this current event today he is superstar correspondent today.
This is what's wrong people!
I JUST WANT TO CARRY YOUR BOOKS HOME
I want to take this particular opportunity to write about how romance seems to be a dying art. As I walked through a mall the other day I saw this one teenager with his girlfriend. The kid clearly thought he was some sort of rap star which was funny considering he made me think of Vanilla Ice in the Ninja Turtles movie. That having been said let me get to the point of this rant.
The kid was a vulgar point with no manners and no class whatsoever. What annoyed me was that the girl was equally ignorant and encouraged his boorish attitude. I wonder how exactly their interaction went. I can imagine it was something like:
BOY: Yo baby let's chill at the mall.
Girl: Like IDK sure whatever!
BOY: Yo boo come on girl
Girl: My boyfriend like totally gets me you know.
The point is the kid was a jackass and he made me so angry I wanted to kick his ass. When I was younger and dating I had to work for a hello and really try everything from carrying a girls books to discreet hand holding at the regular places like the movies. While these were fifth grade tactics the fact that you no longer see them reminds you of societal decline in general. You have little kids talking about swag and how they want to be like Kim Kardashian instead of being individuals.
If all that kids are exposed to is overly rehearsed pop culture their ideas of relationships are going to be pathetic at best. This is why men no longer open the door for ladies. Wait there are no men just punks and morons. This is why there are no boys carrying girls books because they are too busy trying to be "players."
I think the problem lies with the idea that people need to be 100% free to explore from an early age. Yes I understand we all need to be individuals but if all you do is watch television and mimic garbage then you will pretty much end up like garbage.
So how about it? Can I carry your books home?

WHAT DOES NOT KILL YOU CAN DESTROY YOU
I have heard it said that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I beg to differ with that statement. While if you eat a piece of candy that hits the ground for five seconds you will not die other worst things can happen in cases of personality.
Why do i say personality? Personality is what makes us who we are and defines our actions and reactions. So by that particular idea of definition it's safe to say that things we chose not to address while they won't necessarily kill us the won't make us stronger. Let me take control and use it as an example.
People that have controlling and unrelenting natures will not die, not right away, but they do self destruct. We live in an essentially free world with an emphasis on the word individual. No one person controls another in this world. There is a point to this little blog/rant.
When you don't look in the mirror and see that your flaws are what hold you back your allowing them to destroy you in the worst imaginable way. Remember to look in the mirror and take charge because what does not kill you will destroy you.
RELATIONSHIPS ARE HELL
I have never ventured into relationship territory because relationships in general so broad and varied that truthfully it would take a million entries to be able to talk about what makes relationships and what breaks them. There are so many issues to really look at with relationships. There are issues to consider like cultural backgrounds, religious ideals, thoughts on politics, and a million other things.
When relationships are good it seems like everyone holds hands and everything is absolutely wonderful. There is the love, the kissing, the idea that everything is so very perfect and then the little cracks start to really appear. The girl loves romantic movies and the guy loves action movies. There is a degree of anger when they spend the night over who squeezes the toothpaste a certain way.
One wild card about relationships is the physical chemistry. I know that sex is not really the determining factor in relationships but still it plays a major role. Is the man a 60 minute ironman? Is the girl good or an ice queen? There is something about that brief but endless moment that can change the relationship in an instant. Of course if you get into the whole staying together to not be alone factor you have another ten million topics of conversation.
There is no real way to figure out relationships so I say categorically RELATIONSHIPS ARE HELL!!!
LOVE AND PEACE!

IF IT'S A NATURAL PROCESS WHY FEAR IT?
When you are confronted with your own mortality fear and that uncertainty of what's next really start to set in. Often times people either become reckless beyond human levels or they simply retreat into some sort of shell where everything is far too dangerous to attempt. The bottom line is that when death makes any sort of appearance for tea life becomes a whole new ball game.
I am fascinated by the duality in the reactions of people to death. Some people seem to embrace it and others fear it so that they never seem prepared. I guess that when life ends none of us are ready to understand that or deal with it unless we have seen a full century of time. The fact is that death is an impossible to explain part of life for just about everyone.
I wonder if people ever really think about the scientific explanation which to me sounds basic and extremely simple. When it's your time in life it's your time, its a natural process in most cases. If you think about it even when it's a situation where it was not expected there is something to be said for environmental cause. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time among other reasons.
I am personally not a death monger interested in when or where my time may come. I don't question mortality daily and I certainly do not look for ways in which to learn about the intricacies of mortality. The bottom life is that life is life and death is the last part of it and that is something we should not fight or fear.
UNDERSTAND WHAT IS ONE HIT VERSUS MULTIPLE
This particular entry is not really about a societally relevant topic but it's one that makes me laugh and even cry a little bit inside. I love 80's music but I hate the term one hit wonder because I think it's really used improperly. Let me go ahead and explain what it is I mean and where I am headed.
VH1 constantly used to air specials about one hit wonders and the usual suspects showed up. The Buggles, Haircut 100, Bow Wow Wow, and yes the legendary Taco. To me al of that made sense because it's not like Taco had a smash follow up to "Putting on the Ritz." The truth is that those were all fun one off songs that everyone could enjoy in a nice 80's disco with a lot of flashy lights and mega amounts of gnarly cocaine in the back room. I always had a massive problem with one addition and that was Gary Numan.
What exactly made Gary Numan a one hit wonder? The song cars is apparently the culprit here. I have an issue when you consider that three years before Gary Numan and the Tubeway Army had a hit with are friends electric and were bringing a dark and edgy style music to the world. The songs like " Are Friends Electric" and "Down in the Park" were new and very innovative.
While none of this is really relevant today it is a part of what shaped real music and switched tastes from genres like producer influenced disco to sound and meaning driven styles of music. I would not consider any of that punk music but still it meant something and it's nice to get it right.

I am positive that the good General had a way to express his ability to really captivate his biographer with not just tales of heroics but also descriptions of his "field" capacity. Alas we shall never know but who the hell cares? It's fun to testiculate, wait I mean speculate.

GIVE TACOS BACK THEIR PRESTIGE
I have decided to launch a campaign that will likely result in a significant change in the food pyramid . What is this campaign you ask? It's simple really, I want to bring prestige back to the taco. The fact is that when done right the taco can be one hell of a meal. I have seen tacos made with carne frita, carne asada, rice, onions, and so many wonderful things that you just think you won't be able to fit it the mouth.
Recently and I mean over the last three decades places like Taco Bell and other bastard incarnations have turned the once noble taco into a cheap, tawdry, whore like snack. I say that this needs to change and that change can come starting now! Let's make the taco the proud dish it once one. Boycott Taco Bell and let us all make youtube videos that could possibly span a gubernatorial candidate. I think we can all agree the taco deserves better.
Let's look at the decline of the taco people:
1) It is thought of as a shitty snack
2) Often used to refer as a woman's genital region
3) People think it has filler material instead of actual meat
4) It is sometimes sold in mass quantities
5) No sauce, a taco is not a taco without Tabasco sauce
6) Considered a lesser plate
I say let's stand up as a nation for our noble and helpful taco. YES WE CAN!!!!! TACO NOW, TACO MANANA, AND TACO FOREVER!
DON'T PREACH WITH ONE HAND AND STEAL WITH THE OTHER
I have never considered myself a follower or a member of anyone's flock because I am an individual. I believe spirituality is an independent choice. What we as people chose to believe in is our right and our own very personal choice. What I have a major problem with is serious hypocrisy.
Everyone loves to believe in miracles and that's cool I respect that but there is something to be said for being so blind to reality that the horizon is nothing but pretty flowers with little pots of goody gold at the end of the rainbow. The fact is we always seem to follow one charismatic figure and drink a form of Kool Aid that takes away our ability to understand when hypocrisy and lies are afoot. Jim Jones was very charismatic and we all know the outcome there. So you may question me and ask where I see the hypocrisy. Let me answer your question and put your soul at ease.
I have read the bible enough times to know that Jesus did not have a Cadillac, a motorcycle, or an airplane. The fact is that according to the bible Jesus did not really have shoes while going from place to place. I am not actually trying to praise Jesus or thump bibles or beliefs like so many people try to do through mediums. I am simply stating that I don't understand why these charismatic electronic pastors seem to have a bigger cash position and better bottom line than even the wealthiest Americans. There is this vow of poverty that seems to be as well observed as obscure 1800's unamended rules.
The fact is that while Benny Hinn traveled first class in the Concord people starved and died waiting for their miracle. While Kenneth Copeland collects planes in his estate people hope that his words will materialize and lose it all providing for his needs. While Jim Bakker and his late wife Tammy Faye gave their dogs shelter that included central AC units people gave the tithe while at times going to bed without power, or some necessary utility. So they preach the word in 10,000 suits and million dollar homes while Gebus oh wait I mean Jesus wore tattered clothing and no shoes. Believe what you chose because you can and you have the right. Understand that what you do believe is not always exactly what you are told and the reality versus the actuality are completely separate hemispheres altogether.
PEACE BE WITH YOU!!!!!
WHY DEALERS ARE SO FUCKING PATHETIC
There is nothing in this world more pathetic to me than a drug dealer. To me a drug dealer is the lowest form of life second only to pedophiles. I write this because I can and I feel like it. It's your choice to stop reading now or continue on. Frankly I hate the "player" wannabe idiots in the drug trade because truthfully their ignorance is beyond reproach.
Let me start with an experience I had in the bathroom of a very nice rooftop club. I was in the bathroom and as I got to the sink to wash my hands I saw this kid who seemed well to do trying to deal a little something to another patron because his tab was more than he could afford. I am glad I was not drunk because I would have likely laughed out loud at the pitiful situation. I left the bathroom quickly and decided to turn a blind eye because frankly I am no one's savior.
To me these little street shit punks that think they are special and tough are a joke. I myself do not come from the street nor do I pretend to have gangster credibility but frankly I don't need it. The truth of the matter is it does not matter who you are or the level you are in you will get caught. Pablo Escobar the glorified errand boy of the Ochoa Family went like a ton of bricks on an incline and he actually declared war on the government of Colombia and built his own prison. The fact is that the gaudy watches and chains mean very little when you are headed nowhere rapidly.
I hate to hear the bullshit about "I had no other choice" when you see how many people come from the worst environments and go on to successful and productive lives. There is a choice between being practical and a good person and being a total idiot. Unfortunately the glorification of gangster figures in film has not helped the problem as there are millions of Tony Montana wannabes in this country alone.
The fact is that people create and glorify ideals that don't have room in society but nevertheless are jammed in anyway. Yes there are issues like environment, personality, behavior, and psychological profiles but none of that changes the fact that drug dealers and the people around them are simply pathetic.

LET'S DRINK THE MOONSHINE!!!!!!
Okay so now elections are over we have a POTUS and we have either a month of live or another eternity. What to do? I have compiled a top ten list of things we can all do to enjoy life.
- Kiss an angry senior citizen's troubles away (ladies mainly)
- Turn congress into a mass urinal ( explanation to follow)
- Create a march for the purpose of getting virgins past 30 laid
- Elect Jesse Ventura to a senate seat in any state
- Erect a monument to Ralph Nader and Matthew Lesko
- Organize a society for the perennially stubborn
- Legalize hookah bars, wait those are legal
- Let's all make a prostitute bill of rights
- Raise the voting age to 85
- DRINK THE MOONSHINE
The truth of the matter is that life is fun if you want it to be. What you think is best may be best and it may will be something totally different. Life will not always go the way we want it to but we were given the ability to adapt and that's what we should all do, adapt. I am aware that these words will likely fall on def ears but hey we lose nothing by trying.

DON'T TALK PAST YOUR PRIME
I love when people that are clearly past their prime decide that they want to start writing about themselves as if they are something special. I can understand the whole concept of good self esteem but there is something to be said for being borderline ridiculous on top of being happy about having been "special" during some point in your life.
Example 1: A middle aged woman out of shape walks into a bar and she starts talking to every young douche lion in the place to see who will take her home to experiment with a BBW milf. The middle aged gun slinger posts her conquest on her social medium of preference and talks of herself in the third person. The Lady says " The kitten scratches hard all over the place blah, blah, blah."
Example 2: A middle aged man walks into a bar and starts a conversation with a young girl. The girl ignores him and he moves on to the next then the next until a guy stops him from talking to his girlfriend in the worst way. The man says that he destroyed some young girls nether region and made her beg for more love.
The bottom line is that it's okay to feel young, act young, and know how to live life. There is something to be said for being a complete idiot that goes beyond youthful into ridiculous. So please remember that you should not talk past your prime.

ON THE SEVENTH DAY HE SAID BAZINGA!
Okay so there is a lot to be said for the intricate points regarding religion. Die hard true believers live and die by the statements that they read in the bible. I was taught while attending a private catholic grade school that the bible was written over a period of close to two thousand years. Then there are the revised editions of the bible. Of course there are the people that ride around the bicycles with the helmets and ties and they do the green thing along with all that religious love.
There is the scientific approach to creation which refers to the Big Bang Theory as opposed to the whole seven days thing. So it all boils down to what you chose to believe if it's science or the presence of one all powerful figure that can seemingly do everything in order to create or destroy life. Then of course there is the whole calendar thing that has the world ending in a month or so.
Science makes a strong point especially if you look up the Miller- Urey Experiment conducted in 1952. If you look at things objectively then there are unexplained events that lean to the possibility of an all powerful entity. Within that level of objectivity you have to also wonder what it's like when factoring for other religions. It's all funny really especially when while looking up the Big Bang Theory there is more on the TV show than there is on the actual scientific theory.
Let us all look at it this way: On the seventh day he said BAZINGA and the world and the universe around it was created.
OKAY WHAT THE HELL?
Recently I read someone categorically state that he was gay and that Jesus took it away. I have about a million different issues with that particular statement. I am not a gay person but I do know quite a few and I studied gay and straight relationships while doing my BA in college. A lot of misconceptions and stereotypes were cleared up for me while learning about gay and straight relations in college. Not all gays are clean and organized, not all are wilting flowers that can be kicked around, and many of them have strong values not centered on their personal preference.
I can't say that being gay is a choice or something that is genetically pre disposed. I know that there is a long running argument between people with regards to that but the truth of the matter is I am not the person to settle it or even weigh in on it. I do understand that saying "I was gay and Jesus took it away" is by far the most ridiculous statement I have ever read in my entire life.
First of all to say that Jesus takes gay away pretty much opens itself to massive misinterpretation. People may assume that Jesus wants the gay or that he kidnaps gay people I mean anyway you cut it the statement sounds just awful. I think that it's great to be religious and have your beliefs but I think it's abhorrent to be so ignorant that you would make a statement like that. Seriously people what the hell is the problem?

KEEP IT IN THE HOLSTER GENERAL
We live in a world where stepping in it is something that happens way too often. Case and point is the General Petraeus sex scandal currently captivating the nation. When a man wants to use his "hose" in a manner that really should be question given his marital status and position he should think twice. This was not a case of Petraeus the factory foreman but Petraeus the CIA Director.
This to me is a clear example of someone not knowing how to "keep it in the holster" or taking it out without stepping on it. The good General pretty much allowed his libido to compromise private information that could well be considered a violation in terms of national security matters. Petraeus was drilling (pun intended) the woman that wrote his biography.
I wonder why with all his money and power Petraeus did not just consider the possibility of a hooker. I hear that there is this one girl in Colombia that does this great thing that is known in Washington authority circles as "La Paella Frita." Seriously Petraeus be smart next time and keep it in the holster.

WHAT MAKES FOR A DIVIDE MAKES FOR A DEBATE
Now that the elections are over and we have chosen our leader there is an interesting discussion to be had. The numbers coming in on election night were so tight it was nearly impossible to tell who was going to win. At one point Romney held a comfortable lead in electoral votes but it was early enough to where Obama could still and would eventually pass him. The end result was a commanding electoral lead for Obama. Then there is the popular vote which for a long time was in Romney's side.
It is clearly understood that the popular vote does not determine the winner of the election. The popular vote does register a pulse in the American landscape and as of yesterday Obama only had a 1.7% lead over Romney. The interesting question now is what did America really want on election night? Truthfully their was no overwhelming winner and a lot of questions were raised.
Yes Obama won almost every state he won last time with the exception of two states that Romney recovered for the Republican party. If you study the margin of victory that Obama had in some of those states it was almost non existent and the difference was made by the size of counties voting. Traditionally democratic counties voted as such and gave Obama a greater boost to carry the states he carried. So once more when you look at the map it's fair to question if there was a clear and overwhelming winner according to what we want as a nation.
It's also fair to ask if we are being overly influenced by negative attack adds that seem to run almost non stop for a specific period of time. I would love to see how the election would turn out if instead candidates were left to expose their various points in televised town hall style meetings where they could in turn talk to the people. Yes the candidates do that already and they do state what they feel is wrong but in this case it would not be an add but rather an exposure in which they could establish a specific point and try to carry it consistently. I know that won't happen but it would be no less interesting. How did FDR campaign after all? The FDR fireside chats were like destination radio for depression era America.
America is divided but the truth is that if you take a sampling of people and question them about policy a good percentage will not know the difference between a Romney proposition or an Obama proposition. This is not a statement that chastises either as being overly liberal or conservative but rather exposes the fact that not many people can really recite a budget proposal or medical reform proposal. The truth is that the venom that comes out of people and what divides the country comes from misunderstanding, assumption and prejudice in some ways.

WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE
This particular blog is about mental illness and the complexity of it. I am not an expert nor can I claim to be one even though my mother is a Psychologist. I can't say that my coursework on basic Psych allows me a vast understanding of mental illness outside of basic knowledge such as Oedipal and Jocasta complexes. I was compelled to write about this because of the news of the sentencing of Jared Lee Loughner who not too long ago was the central figure in a massacre that resulted in many gravely injured and in the shooting and critical wounding of US Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.
To my understanding Jared Lee Loughner is a schizophrenic under severe drug treatment at least after the attack. To me this is a human tragedy of the very worst kind not just because of the loss of six people, and the wounding of thirteen including Giffords. To me it was also a tragedy because this is the type of event that puts such a stigma on mental illness that it prevents people who suffer from it to be seen as productive. I understand that in case of schizophrenia it's very hard to be productive but it is far from impossible.
By definition schizophrenia is " a disease that makes it hard to think clearly, understand the difference between real and fake and act normally in social situations." Often times environmental factors do play a role in the development of such a problem. In the case of Loughner it seems that usage of alcohol as well as hallucinogens and his inability to cope with rejection really led to his explosion. Then there are Loughner's issues with female figures in positions of power.
To me Loughner is a psychopath that took one too many drugs and decided to try and carry out his will. My biggest problem with this whole situation is that I have seen people diagnosed with schizophrenia try and lead normal lives yes under heavy psychotropic medications and yes sometimes under a degree of supervision. I feel that it is unfair to characterize mental illness as a dark spot on the basis of one isolated incident.
I am not saying that this is happening now after this ruling but I can hear the sounds of ignorance and widespread stupidity coming a mile away. Let's call it as it is and draw the line where it needs to be drawn. Loughner was an asshole with a huge frustration that revolved around a real distaste for women in general among other things. I don't think it was his illness that pulled the trigger it was his nature.

EVERYBODY LOOK AT TRUMP THE PRESS WHORE
You know something I am glad we live in a society where freedom of speech is highly encouraged. After President Obama was declared the winner Donald Trump mounted another pathetic attack on the POTUS. The king of of comb overs and smack talking went on twitter which is a great outlet for highly limited individuals like himself and he mounted an offensive.
The Donald began blasting electoral colleges, and talking about a march of some sort. Donald Trump reminds me of a past her prime escort. In this case Trump went from being sought after to being the lone woman at the bar hoping someone will want to hear her story of how time stole her youth and with it her dreams of being in a musical.
My biggest problem is that Trump encourages people that are far more ignorant to engage in hate speech and extreme prejudice. I am not referring to racial prejudice but rather ill based political prejudice that does not make any damn sense whatsoever. If people don't agree with the current administration they should understand the reason why they don't. If they agreed with the losing candidate they should understand and be able to really explain what was so great about his policy.
Republican or Democrat does not make a difference please know your facts, defend them with intelligence and don't pay attention to comb over press whores.

Last night America spoke once more and it chose the leader of not only the US but also the free world. President Obama will move on for another four years and will attempt to make history beyond the history he has made thus far. This bit I am writing does not focus on President Obama, Mitt Romney, or any political affiliations. I want to focus on one specific symbol of what makes democracy a true wonder.
Last night as the results came in they were reflecting on the Empire State building until Obama won and then the top of the building turned blue. That particular turn became an instant symbol of the perennial hope that America has for progress. I am not saying it was Hope because of Obama but the hope of a population coming together and believing in the principles of democracy that make this country the greatest bastion of progress.
People sit and criticize the US but we have the power to make that difference and it is a responsibility that we need to cherish in multiple respects. It was a great feeling to see the level of jubilation at the people's ability to chose the person they wanted wether or not that person was triumphant. It was great to once again see the greatness of democracy in action.

LET THEM ALL GO TO HELL EXCEPT CAVE 76
So Tuesday is the big day and everyone is making the dash for those last minute votes. Every member of team Obama is canvassing the undecided part of the populous. Recently I was the target of a canvas fella that looked like a deer in the headlights. Everyone from the ramrod, tea party, GOP is making that glorious run in order to illustrate Mitt's "Magic Math Method."
I want to throw a wild card out there and see who's with it. I would like to propose a massive write in movement for an unlikely candidate. I am sure that this will not work out but if I stick with it for the next four years it may pick up steam. I say let's write in The 2000 Year Old Man. Yes I am aware that this is a fictional character but come on people.
The 2000 Year Old Man comes from a society where all people lived in caves. If we all lived in caves imagine how much we would save on utilities. I also think that we can all create our own anthems much like the 2000 Year Old Man's anthem. Let them all go to hell people, I think it's brilliant to start this movement.
So for the good of the nation let us say "Let them all go to hell except for the 2000 Year Old Man."

WHO WINS? WHO CARES?
On November 6th 2012 the country will make a pilgrimage of sorts to the polls. More than likely this will be the closest election since JFK defeated Richard Nixon in 1960 by a margin of 120,000 votes. The difference is that now I seriously doubt that the level of regard for the winner and feeling of true hope will be there.
It doesn't matter if Obama gets re elected or Romney wins because the fact remains that change will not occur over night. Romney will not be able to just shut down PBS and push himself forward because while Republicans have one house Democrats have another. I seriously doubt that the next 4 years will bring about significant change.
For Romney to have a successful time implementing policy he will have to do a complete overhaul of measures going back to Bush and not just Obama. For Obama to have a better second term he will have to adjust a lot domestically in order to have any success. The truth is that economy is cyclical and only changes as the habits of all consumers change. The economy is affected by issues such as military spending but truthfully Military spending only increases during periods of serious conflict and those periods only come around every ten to fifteen years on a serious world scale.
More than likely there will be issues with the voting especially on battleground states that are likely to swing either way. In the end there will be one man at the helm starting with promise, and hope for change but in the end it will be a number of factors that will make that man a significant historical figure. Who will win? Who really cares?

WHEN DID FREE PRESS BECOME FRANKENSTEIN?
It's funny how the face of G. Gordon Liddy reminds me of everything that seemed to ruin the US at a specific point in time. Liddy's bald head and his SUPER MARIO BROTHERS mustache makes me think that he in a way was part of the reason why the press went from being selective to being almost completely merciless and destructive.
If you think back to the old days you learned about in the history classes you hated there is a distinctive difference between press from the 30's to "modern times press" from the late 60's forward. Politics was limited to whatever the press was allowed to publish and expose whatever the the White House allowed.
So now we come back to Gordon our resident plumber. How exactly did everything go from being black and white to a kaleidoscope of color? Watergate is really the best answer and with good reason. The White House really did have the power to repress information and to keep people in the dark about everything from our involvement in Vietnam to sanction covert operations aimed at destroying what we considered enemies.
Watergate in many ways gave new power to "Freedom of the Press." I think that during that period freedom of the press was necessary in order to expose a serious issue with the US and its leader and show the people that everyone was liable when breaking the law. Now by contrast the press has become rapacious and is constantly looking for the next big stumble.
Today the media has the real power and it's the media that controls who becomes our next leader. Every election no matter the position usually ends up in some bitter smear campaign that exposes every personal difficulty of aspiring leaders. Look at a 50's add stating "We Like Ike" and one now stating "Obama No Bama." The rhetoric has changed and the press and media no longer have a noble agenda but rather a selfish one based on special interest. Thank you Watergate for creating a special kind of monster that William Randolph Hearst would be proud of.

THE HOME STRETCH
So we are now officially in the home stretch of the election. In a matter of days we will elect a new POTUS. I know I should use the whole word but POTUS just sounds so awesome. So what does this really mean?
To an uneducated mass it means very little and to pseudo intelligent self styled die hards it means that their view of what's best for the country is going to materialize. To a few it means that a change in the cyclical world and domestic economy may actually occur. The next few days are going to be a whirlwind of differing opinions, hurt feelings, and major misunderstandings.
Pro Obama teams will collide with members of Team Romney and news outlets will make ratings come to life with election coverage and an eventual retrospective of the last four years. One political party will likely go into a massive search for its next superstar while the other will find itself bathing in the glory of what has become the biggest trophy in the country. Every minor, moderate and large political booster organization will then focus on pushing their respective agendas and moving forward with a NO MORE 4 plan.
Every home stretch means something different for the country, the world and every individual breathing. Let's all remember to do our part as we too can make real change.
