TINA!

I have always been a fan of Tina Turner's music and her strength of character. When you look back at her story and realize how much she has endured and how she has survived you realize she is really someone special. Tina turner went through a marriage where mental and physical abuse were the order of the day. After several years of laboring to survive in entertainment Tina went on to make the kind of comeback that surprised the music world and put her in the same position as Prince, Bruce Springsteen, and even Michael Jackson.

Almost thirty years after establishing herself as a rock goddess Tina Turner has made headlines because she's renouncing her US citizenship in order to become a Swiss citizen. I won't criticize that decision because I wholeheartedly believe that people should do what they feel is in their best interest. I will say this about Tina Turner's decision, it shows she was never really a follower.

Tina Turner refused to commit to a sound or for that matter be pigeon holed into any singular category. I think her decision to become a Swiss citizen and renounce her US citizenship shows that she is the kind of strong individual that operates based on what she feels is the right move for her. I think more people should follow her example because truthfully there are way to many sheep in the flock.
